World Disabled Day

The world disability Day is the day that the United Nations has been promoting since the year 1992. It is the day that aims at the Disability of people and it promotes a better understanding of the people who are affected by this and their emotional status. It is not a day that looks down upon the disables rather the day encourages them to do various things. It is a day where the common people are educated about the disabilities and how they can support them in any possible way. The aim is also to encourage an understanding of the people who are affected by different kinds of disabilities, their rights, welfare and dignity and many other things. The day is not just about people who are mentally or physically challenged but the day comprises of all sorts of disabilities like multiple sclerosis, autism and another kind of diseases.

The World Disability started when in the year 1975 UN made a decision to celebrate 1981 as the International Year of Disabled Persons. The time in between went on understanding the problems and the hardships that these people face and how everything can be made equal without any bias and how they can participate in everything. The other problem that the UN wanted to solve was how the government can be of great help to the disabled and help them lead a simpler life. The ten years from 1983 to 1992 was declared as the decade of the disabled persons and everything during this time was made clear.

The day is celebrated every year where people hold discussions, campaigns, rally, meetings, talk show and other things to promote the better understanding of the day. There are also musical plays, where the disabled people are also involved. The disabled people benefit from this and they enjoy participating in such events. Every year there is a new aspect, which helps in improving the life of the disabled people and making the place more disabled friendly.
