Type of ration card in Delhi?

The govt. of Delhi issued different types of Ration Card for the Delhi people and we should know what type of ration card is issued for people and then apply for the right one as per our need and requirement.

  • Above Poverty Line (APL):-  This card is issued to families having total annual income above Rs 1,00,000/-  APL Cards (White Colour).
  • Below Poverty Line (BPL):- This card is issued to families having total annual less than 24,200.
  • Antyodya Anna Yojana (AAY):- Household with a disabled adult and no assured means of subsistence, landless labourers, marginal farmers, artisans, craft men, widows, terminally ill persons etc. are covered under this scheme.
  • Annapurna Yojana (AY):- Under this scheme, a destitute person with more than 65 years of age having no source of income and not availing the benefit of national Old Age Pension or State Pension Scheme are entitled to 10 Kg of food grains free of cost every month.

Eligibility criteria for ration card

So far, we have understand the value of ration card and types of ration card in Delhi, now the next question is who can apply for ration card or what is the eligibility criteria for ration card in Delhi. Well, there is no tough criteria to apply ration card in Delhi.

  • If you are residing in Delhi you are eligible for ration card, that’s it.

  • 2 passport size photograph of female head of family

Address Proof

  • Aadhaar Card

Age Proof

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Voter ID Card
  • Birth Certificate etc.

Income Proof

  • Income certificate

How to apply for ration card in Delhi

Now here is our final question that how to apply for ration card in Delhi the answer depends on you. You can apply for ration card either online or offline as per your convenience and below I have shared both the methods.

Offline Method

Still there are numerous people out there in Delhi who is using ration card are not feeling comfortable to apply ration card online that’s why the prefer that method but we also recommend to go online facility for ration card is it’s fast and easy if you can’t do yourself just go to nearest cyber cafe and they will do it for you will charge a small fee for this work depends on area.

Now here is the procedure to apply ration card offline

Step 1: First of all you have to visit the Circle office of your area to get the ration card application form. however you can download it online as well from the official website which link is shared here for you.

Step 2: Please fill all the details properly as it will ask for some general details the form will looks like below attached image.

Step 3: Once you filled the form respectively attached all the documents which are listed above in the post.

Step 4: Now visit the circle office of your area once again between 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and submit the form must carry original documents with you for verification purpose.

Step 5: The official will provide you bottom of the application form where they have mentioned application number save this slip for further.

Step 6: Re-visit the office after 30 days to know the status of your ration card either its generated or not.

Online Method

Highly recommended method as it will save your lot’s of visit to circle office. You can do it yourself however face any trouble can comment in below section or visit nearest cyber cafe or anyone who know computer work can do help in this regard. However after reading it you will be able to do complete the process yourself.

Please keep patience as the process is quite lengthy so it will take time to understand it and reading it.

Step 1: First of all you have to access the official website of Department of Food,Supplies and Consumer Affairs,GNCT of Delhi here: https://nfs.delhi.gov.in/Home.aspx

Step 2: Scroll down and click on “Apply Online for Food Security” link on left side corner as you can see in below attached image.

Step 3: Now you will be redirect to another official website of eDistrict which link is also shared here: https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in/in/en/Home/Index.html

Step 4: Here on top of the page you can see the following options

I know you visits this website for the first time, so here you to click on New User and register yourself the registration process is as follows

  • First choose document type Aadhar Card or Voter Id
  • enter the number of your aadhaar card or voter id whatever you have choose
  • Fill the captcha code
  • Now a form will appear on screen, where you have to fill your name, mother name, father name, address & mobile number & email id etc.
  • Click on continue to register button. That;s it you will receive the registration id and password on your mobile and email id accordingly.

Step 5: Click on Registered Users Login button Enter your user id and password in prescribe box. fill the captcha code and click on Log in button.

Step 6: My profile page will appear on screen from here go to Apply Online and “Apply for Services” as shown in below image.

Step 7: Now go to “DEPARTMENT OF FOOD & SUPPLY” section and click on “Issuance of AAY/Priority Household Card” “Apply” button.

Step 8: Now it will show you pre-filled form details just scroll down and click on Continue button.

Step 9: Now the ration card apply form will appear on screen fill the form accordingly.  Please enter the eldest female family member in head of family.

Step 10: Enter the details of other family member accordingly and upload their photographs.

Step 11: Now upload all the documents which listed above one by one.

Step 12: Now click on “Final Submit” button make sure you have enter all the details correctly because you can’t change it later.

Ste 13: Congratulations you have successfully applied for ration card in Delhi online a online slip will generate where Application Number & Registration ID is mentioned take the print of this slip or note down the registration number and application number to track the status of your ration card.

Here is how you can track the status of ration card Delhi

After the successful registration we have to check the status of our application either it’s reject or accepted and is our ration card generated or not. If you have applied via the online mode only then you can check it otherwise visit the circle office your area.

Click on the link given here: https://nfs.delhi.gov.in/Citizen/ViewApplicationStatus.aspx

  • Now enter aadhar number of any family member in prescribe box.
  • You have to enter the NFS Application ID/Online Citizen ID which you received at the time of registration here.
  • Enter New ration card No(like 077….)
  • Enter Old ration card No(like AAY12…)
  • Finally click on “Search” button.

It will show you the message accordingly either your application is accepted or rejected and either your ration card is generated or not.
