Parashuram Jayanti is celebrated on the Mark of his birthday. Lord Parashuram was born on Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya which means the 3rd day of Shukla Paksha. He is considered as 6th Avatar of Lord Vishnu. He was born to Sage Jamdagni and Renuka. He father was a great sage of Bhrigu dynasty and he was the 5th son of his parents. Lord Parashuram had 4 elder brothers named Vishwa, Vishwavasu, Sushen, and Ramanvant. Parashuram was a great devotee of Lord Shiva who created the Universe. He had the massive knowledge of anything in the world. He was not just a sage but also a great warrior. He worked for the well being of the human beings and was against the crime. His birthday is celebrated as Parashuram Jayanti, which nourish a lot of Zeal & excitement. It is mostly celebrated in temples and sacred place. During his birthday, Parashuram Shoba Yatra will be organized along with Homam, pujas, Banderas and Havans. According to the great epic Ramayana, he was named Ram. Later he was renamed into Parashuram as he had given a powerful weapon parasu by Lord Shiva. Since then, he is considered as another form of Mahavishnu. According to ancient beliefs, he defeated kshatriyas. He was always ready to help the needy people. It is believed that he was just born to defeat the Heideya dynasty.

After the death of demon king Kiratarjuna, Lord parasuram restored truth, Dharma, and peace on earth. In the ancient times, King Kartaveerya Arjun ruled Mahishmati Nagri, which belongs to Heiheya Dynasty. The king Kshatriya was a demon who killed a lot of innocent people. Goddess Earth went to Mahavishnu and sought his help. Lord Mahavishnu accepted her prayer and reincarnated into Parashuram to kill the demon king. Lord Vishnu killed the king & restored peace on Earth. It is said that his sacred blood was filled in five ponds during the war.
On this special occasion, devotees keep fasting for a long time. Following this, they take the traditional bath and visit temples. And then, they offer prayers to Almighty. They stay awake at night and recite slogans & mantras of Lord Vishnu especially Sahasranama Strotra. On this auspicious day, devotees recommended donating some things to the needy people.
