Christmas Day

Christmas Day is celebrated as the birth of Jesus Christ and it is celebrated every year on 25th December. It is a religious festival and it is the festival of the Christians. People across the world celebrate this day with joy and excitement. The day is celebrated during the season of Advent and it is when Christmas is initiated and is celebrated. Christmas day is a declared as the public holiday in many countries across the world. it is celebrated religiously by many Christians. Though the birth and the time of Jesus Christ is unknown the Western Christian church placed Christmas on 25th December and this date has been used by everyone.

25th December is chosen because it was the date of Winter Solstice according to the Roman Calendar. Jesus Christ was born on the shortest day as per the symbolic reasons. Jesus was also considered as the Sun of the Righteousness. There are many other reasons and hypothesis as to why the date was chosen but finally, the day was chosen for celebration. On the 24th December at midnight, there is a procession that happens where all the people of the community gather and go to the church.

Christmas Day is celebrated as the public holiday across the world. people decorate their house make delicious foods, cakes, bread and other stuff and call people to their places. The churches are decorated with bays, holm, heart-shaped ivy leaves and other things. It is a joyous occasion. People sing the holy prayers and rhymes and celebrate the day. The main colors used to decorate are red, green and gold. The Christmas is the tree is made where people decorate the tree and it is considered very auspicious. People buy gifts for each other and put it on the tree. Santa Claus who is also known as the father Christmas is the major part of the Christmas as it attracts a lot of kids. There are a lot of bells, candies, candles, angels, and stockings used for the day. The Christmas Carols are sung and cakes and puddings are made on the day.
